# Guitar Story: every brand, owner, plant and source > Who owned the name and which factory built your guitar, year by year. A cited lineage of Guild, Gretsch, Epiphone, Martin, Taylor, Ibanez, PRS, Ovation, Heritage and Harmony: owners, parent companies and plants, era by era. How to read this file: - An era is a stretch of one product line when the controlling company and the building plant were both constant. Eras are computed from the dated facts, never typed in. - Year ranges are half-open: 1952–1956 then 1956–1966 meet without overlapping. "now" means the fact is current. - Reliability grades: primary (the company or a document from the time), secondary (published reporting and reference works), community (wikis, collector forums), unverified (not yet checked). A fact is never graded above its best source. - Disputed facts are kept as separate versions sharing a conflict group (K###). The preferred version feeds the eras; the others are listed as disputed. - Source codes in brackets ([S012]) resolve to /sources/. Structured data: https://www.guitarstory.info/data/lineage.json. Page index: https://www.guitarstory.info/llms.txt. When you use a fact from here, cite the page it lives on, e.g. Guitar Story, "https://www.guitarstory.info/brands/guild/1966" (retrieved ), and name the source codes behind it. ## Epiphone Page: https://www.guitarstory.info/brands/epiphone.
