Released 1958 per Guitar Player (S347), which says the model was abandoned the following year, with leftover parts assembled later. Wikipedia says discontinued 1963 (community). Probably production stopped 1959 and leftover assembly ran to 1963, but no source says so directly; kept 1959. Explorer reappeared in the mid-1970s (not recorded).
