In 2023, BBE Sound, Inc. controlled the G&L name. Its 2 lines on record were built at G&L / CLF Research, 2548 Fender Avenue, Fullerton and PT Cort Indonesia, Ngoro (USA and Indonesia).[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
A G&L guitar from 2023 belongs to whichever era was running on its product line that year. An era is a stretch when the company that controlled the name and the plant that built the line both stayed the same. If you know the line, the table below tells you which version of G&L you have. The name dates from 1980[1, 3, 6], 43 years before.
| Line | Controlled by | Parent | Built at | Era | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| G&L Tribute series (import) | BBE Sound, Inc. | — | PT Cort Indonesia, Ngoro Ngoro, Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia[9] | 2007–2025 | community[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] |
| G&L USA (Fullerton-built) | BBE Sound, Inc. | — | G&L / CLF Research, 2548 Fender Avenue, Fullerton | 1991–2025 | community[1, 2, 3, 4, 8] |
Nothing changed in 2023. Every era running that year carried on from an earlier year, so a G&L from 2023 is the same version as one from 2022.

Every numbered marker on this page points here: the document, its grade and the passages relied on. An era is computed, so it cites the facts it was derived from. A fact marked “no source” has no claim attached yet.
