Guitar Story
In 2024, C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. (Martin family) controlled the Martin name. Its 3 lines on record were built at Martin 510 Sycamore Street and Martin Navojoa (USA and Mexico).[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
A Martin guitar from 2024 belongs to whichever era was running on its product line that year. An era is a stretch when the company that controlled the name and the plant that built the line both stayed the same. If you know the line, the table below tells you which version of Martin you have. The name dates from 1833[1, 2, 3, 4, 5], 191 years before.
| Line | Controlled by | Parent | Built at | Era | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Martin Backpacker (Mexico) | C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. (Martin family) | — | Martin Navojoa Navojoa, Sonora, Mexicono source | 1990–now | community[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] |
| Martin DXM (Mexico) | C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. (Martin family) | — | Martin Navojoa Navojoa, Sonora, Mexicono source | 2004–now | community[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6] |
| Martin USA (Nazareth) | C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. (Martin family) | — | Martin 510 Sycamore Street Nazareth, PA, USA[8] | 1964–now | community[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] |
Nothing changed in 2024. Every era running that year carried on from an earlier year, so a Martin from 2024 is the same version as one from 2023.

Every numbered marker on this page points here: the document, its grade and the passages relied on. An era is computed, so it cites the facts it was derived from. A fact marked “no source” has no claim attached yet.
